Daniela’s Senior Design Thesis was inspired by a poem she wrote two years ago tilted “Mexicana Soy.” The poem was inspired by the song “Me Gritaron Negra” (1978) by Victoria Santa Cruz. Daniela was born in Mexico City and lived there as a little girl, her poem discusses challenges moving to the United States and never losing sight of where she comes from. Her instillation highlights the pride and love she feels for her country and family.
